There was no racist overtones in the statements of the fans of the CSKA football club (FC) to the Krasnodar player John Cordoba, there is no evidence of this. This was announced on March 13 in the press service of the Moscow team, commenting on the decision of the RFU Control and Disciplinary Committee (CPC) to fine CSKA for 1 million rubles.

"In the epicenter of events under discussion, along with our fans, there were both CSKA players and opposing players of completely different races and nationalities, so we have no conviction or evidence base that this rumble had racist overtones," the newspaper Sport-Express quotes the text of the statement.

In addition, the press service added that the statements of the fans of the Moscow club were a response to the actions of some of the team's players from Krasnodar. It is specified that CSKA intends to complete an independent investigation and take action against those responsible.

The match between CSKA and Krasnodar, during which the incident was recorded, ended with a 3-1 victory for the Army on March 4. After leaving the field, the players of the losing team broke down the door in the locker room of their opponents' stadium. At the same time, it became known that during the meeting, CSKA fans showed racism, expressed in insulting shouts. The victorious FC announced the day after the incident that it had launched an internal investigation into what had been revealed.

On March 13, CSKA was fined 1 million rubles for an incident with Colombian player John Cordoba. The fine was due to the behavior of CSKA fans who insulted the 32-year-old striker during the Russian Premier League (RPL) Cup semi-final match.
