Since the end of 2025, the number of workers and equipment has increased during the construction of the Moscow–St. Petersburg high-speed railway (HSR). This was announced on March 13 by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Saveliev during a meeting on the implementation of the HSR construction project.

"Since the end of last year, the number of employed workers has increased by more than 50% and today exceeds 20,000 people. The number of vehicles involved has almost doubled and amounts to more than 10,000 units," Saveliev said.

According to him, the project is characterized by high technical complexity due to the terrain and geology of the route. In addition, 10 factories for the production of girders for bridges and overpasses will be built along the highway to speed up work.

"At the same time, two robotic plants are being built to produce special ballast-free plates. To implement the project, 14 plants for the production of piles will be equipped. There are already four such production facilities operating at the pilot site," the Russian Deputy Prime Minister noted.

In September last year, it was reported that the Moscow –St. Petersburg high-speed rail project assumes the presence of 16 stations. Two of them will be technical — Tigoda in Novgorod and Gorki in Tver regions. The remaining 14 stops will become passenger stops. Trains will stop at such stations as Leningradsky Railway Station, Rizhskaya, Petrovsko-Razumovskaya, Zelenograd-Kryukovo, Vysokovo, Novaya Tver, Logovezh, Sadva, Vypolzovo, Valdai, Veliky Novgorod, Zharovskaya, Yuzhny and St. Petersburg Main.
