Sobyanin presented prizes in the field of tourism
The best employees in the field of tourism were awarded in Moscow. The awards were presented by the mayor of the city Sergey Sobyanin.
Last year, the capital broke the record for tourist traffic — the city was visited by 26.5 million tourists for the first time in history. Since 2010, the turnover and budget revenue from the industry have increased eightfold, Sobyanin said on his channel in MAX. The mayor noted that the record figures are primarily the result of the work of specialists who work in the industry every day.
11 specialists received the award. Among the laureates are Ekaterina Shapovalova, author of the federal project "Gastronomic Map of Russia" and curator of the House of Russian Cuisine at VDNH, head of the private Tsar—Maket museum Vadim Avilov, certified tour guide and author of the blog "Russia then and Now" Peter Posmakov and others.
Sobyanin noted that "the city is doing a lot for such a rapid development of tourism." Thus, major projects were launched in Moscow — "Winter in Moscow" and "Summer in Moscow", and the city also introduced mandatory classification of hotels and certification of guides.
"Moscow is becoming the business center of BRICS and the Global South — a large number of different business events have been organized," Sobyanin added. In addition, two new Moscow information centers were opened in the city last year — on Bolshaya Dmitrovka and in Zaryadye Park. The RUSSPASS ecosystem, launched five years ago, is also constantly being improved, said the head of the capital.
