Encore group reunites after 17 years
Russian performers Dmitry Bikbaev and Vlad Sokolovsky have announced the reunion of the Encore duo 17 years after their disbandment. The artists announced a performance and a new single. All the details are in the Izvestia article.
Return to the stage
Duet members Dmitry Bikbaev and Vlad Sokolovsky spoke about the resumption of joint activities in a podcast on the VK Video platform. The Encore group's first performance in a long time is scheduled for April 9 and will take place as part of Sokolovsky's solo concert. The artists will perform old hits and present a new song.
The band has already recorded a new single called "It's Not Too Late", which will be released on the night of March 12-13. According to the performers, they are currently working on the second song. Sokolovsky noted that he sees only the voice of his colleague as appropriate in the new tracks.
"We recorded a song that Vlad wrote. And now we will just closely monitor what is happening," Bikbayev stressed.
A creative experiment
The artists admitted that they had seen each other only five times in the past 17 years. For a long time there was a misunderstanding between them, which led to conflicts, but now the singers have outgrown this period. They perceive resuming work in a duet as a way to get rid of the accumulated feeling of understatement.
Sokolovsky called what was happening an important internal stage and experiment.
"This is definitely the closure of some inner gestalt that we shared with each other, and I understand that I have an emotional attachment to this," he said.
The path after the "Factory of Stars"
The band was created by producer Konstantin Meladze in 2007 during the "Star Factory-7" project. During the band's existence, they released a number of popular songs, including "Yours or No One's", "Boats" and the duo's hallmark song "Katya". The track "Closer" brought the Golden Gramophone award to the participants.
The breakup of BIS became known in 2010. After the closure of the project, Dmitry Bikbaev was engaged in theatrical activities and developed his own group 4POST, while Sokolovsky continued to collaborate with Meladze and build a solo career.
