Tunnel for escalator to be built at Krasnoyarsk metro station
Construction of an escalator tunnel for the city subway is underway in Krasnoyarsk. Work is underway at the metro tramway's Kopylova Street station.
The tunnel will be at a depth of 35 m. Its length will be about 70 m. For this purpose, about 3.7 thousand cubic meters of soil will be removed, and 1.1 thousand tons of cast iron structures will be installed to strengthen the walls.
A three-tape escalator installed in the tunnel will connect the underground lobby with the station platform, writes KrasnoyarskMedia news agency.
The completion date of the metro had to be shifted to 2028. Initially, the subway was planned to be put into operation at the end of 2026.
Earlier it was reported about the beginning of construction in Krasnoyarsk of a dismantling chamber at the metro tramway station Kopylova Street. The new design for the excavation of the dismantling chamber for tunnel shields was developed taking into account the decision to include the tunnel from Vysotnaya Street to Kopylova Street, built in 2005-2008, in the subway. The excavation will be the deepest.
