Parents often make the same mistakes when choosing clothes for kindergarten, which can make children feel uncomfortable in the first hours of their stay in the group. Elena Malakhova, production director of the Russian children's clothing brand SherySheff, told Izvestia on March 16.

"The main problem is that the clothes are selected without taking into account the activity level of the child. During the day, children constantly change their environment: they go out for a walk, return to warm rooms, participate in active games and activities, and then relax during a quiet hour. If the clothes are not designed for such changes in temperature and movement, the child can quickly overheat, sweat and get tired," the expert explained.

She noted that during morning training, parents most often make several typical mistakes. The first is that they focus only on the temperature of the air outside. At the same time, the child spends most of his time indoors, where it is much warmer, and physical activity remains high. As a result, children are dressed too warmly for kindergarten conditions.

The second common problem is complicated clothing. Jumpsuits with multiple fasteners, small buttons or tight zippers make it difficult to change clothes on your own. In such cases, the child has to constantly seek help from a caregiver, which complicates adaptation and slows down the gathering of the entire group before a walk.

The third mistake is excessive insulation "just in case." Parents try to protect their child from the cold, but overheating occurs much more often than hypothermia. At the same time, clothes wet from sweat on the street quickly cool down, which can increase the risk of colds.

Malakhova also stated that parents are often guided by their own feelings of temperature, forgetting about the differences in the thermoregulation of adults and children. The child moves much more actively, heats up faster and tolerates overheating worse, which can lead to irritability, decreased concentration and fatigue.

According to the expert, the development of independence is of particular importance. When a child is able to take off his jacket, change shoes, or fasten his clothes, he gets used to the kindergarten routine faster and feels more confident among his peers. Simple fasteners, a comfortable fit, and lightweight materials help build such skills.

Malakhova recommends parents to use the principle of functional layers. The base layer should wick away moisture, the second layer should keep you comfortably warm, and outerwear should protect you from wind and precipitation. At the same time, it is important that the child can put on or take off each element of the wardrobe independently.

"Properly chosen clothes help a child feel comfortable during the day and facilitate the work of caregivers. If the clothes remain dry after the walk, and the child remains active and does not complain about the heat or cold, then the kit is selected correctly," the expert concluded.

On February 24, Maria Galkina, a practicing psychologist and cognitive behavioral therapist, told Izvestia that the formation of a federal list of recommended games and toys can promote the development of creative skills in children and arouse interest in their native culture. According to her, the inclusion of traditional fairy tales and folklore can positively influence the development of speech, memory and imagination. Proverbs, nursery rhymes and lullabies have a rhythmic structure that promotes the development of phonemic hearing, which is important for learning to read.
