Blogger Valeria Chekalina, known online as Lercek, faced a serious diagnosis shortly after the birth of her fourth child. The girl was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer with metastases. When was the diagnosis confirmed?

Serious health problems became known in early March. A friend of the blogger, Alina Akilova, reported on her Telegram channel that Chekalina had malignant cells, as well as metastases in her body.

The situation escalated just a few days after giving birth: on February 26, the blogger gave birth to a boy, but soon after being discharged from the hospital, her condition deteriorated sharply, and she ended up in the oncological intensive care unit.

"Malignant cells have been found. <...> metastases have been found in the lungs," Luis Squicciarini, the father of her child, wrote on the Instagram social network (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

What is known about the current situation

Despite the severe diagnosis, Chekalina's relatives are trying to remain optimistic. According to Squicciarini, the blogger has always been characterized by a strong character and love of life, so the family hopes that she will be able to cope with the disease.

In the near future, she will begin a course of chemotherapy, which will be the next stage in the fight against the disease. For now, doctors are continuing to monitor her condition and select a further treatment strategy.

"My strongest, most radiant and beloved girl has stage four stomach cancer with metastases in her spine, legs and possibly lungs. An already confirmed diagnosis. Valeria starts chemotherapy tomorrow," Squicciarini said on his Instagram page (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

The blogger has already had spinal surgery.

According to relatives, Chekalina had been undergoing examinations for a long time to find out the cause of her deteriorating health. During the diagnosis, it turned out that several vertebrae were damaged due to the spread of the disease.

As a result, doctors had to perform an urgent spinal surgery. After surgery, the blogger continues treatment and prepares for further therapy.

Relatives say that she is currently in severe pain and is forced to take powerful painkillers. Currently, Lercek is undergoing treatment at the State Cancer Center.

"Lerchek has metastases in her lungs. At the same time, the court denied her the opportunity to go for an examination a year ago, although her health required constant monitoring," Bonya noted on her social networks.

Bonya stressed that time plays a crucial role in cancer, and any delay can seriously complicate treatment.
