Mobilizations in Ukraine are now being carried out taking into account the level of earnings of citizens, which is unthinkable in the 21st century, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on March 12.

"Persons whose monthly earnings exceed 2.5 times the minimum wage, that is, who receive more than $500, are not subject to mobilization [in Ukraine]," the diplomat said.

Zakharova stressed that such segregation on the basis of wealth contradicts the norms of morality and law of the 21st century. According to the diplomat, the Ukrainian authorities use less well-off citizens as a resource to protect the personal interests of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and his foreign partners.

"Even the mind refuses to perceive it. If you get a little more, you get a reservation, and if you fall short financially, you have to fight," said the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A captured militant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Igor Sidlyak spoke on March 6 about the forced mobilization during a walk with a child. He added that the mobilized do not receive high-quality military training, and the command abandons them in their positions.
