HPV vaccination has become free in the Krasnoyarsk Territory
Free vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV) has been introduced in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The corresponding order was signed by the head of the regional Ministry of Health Alexei Konovalenkov, said Ilya Zaitsev, head of the Committee on Health and Social Policy of the regional Legislative Assembly.
In 2026, girls aged 12 can receive a free vaccination. Vaccination will be available for medical reasons for children with a hereditary predisposition to cervical cancer, HIV-infected, orphaned children, children from large families and those left without parental care.
The human papillomavirus is one of the key factors in the development of cervical cancer, writes KrasnoyarskMedia news agency. Vaccination of adolescents is considered one of the most effective measures to prevent the disease worldwide.
At the end of 2025, it was reported that the HPV vaccine could be included in the national vaccination calendar in 2027. This initiative will require additional expenditures from the State budget.
