The psychologist assessed the effect of "white noise" on the newborn
White noise can help babies fall asleep faster because it creates a calm and predictable sound environment, but it does not replace important emotional contact with parents. Olesya Tolstukhina, a doctor and clinical psychologist, told Izvestia on March 12 on March 12.
According to the expert, white noise is often used to help babies fall asleep faster. It creates a smooth background sound and masks harsh household noises, which helps the child's nervous system to relax and adjust to sleep. For infants, such a background sound is perceived as a calm and predictable environment, which reduces the level of arousal and makes it easier to fall asleep.
"However, it is important to understand that white noise performs rather an auxiliary function: it does not replace emotional contact with parents, which the child receives through voice, calm presence and habitual rituals before bedtime," the expert said.
In addition, it must be remembered that excessive use of white noise can lead to the formation of associations when a child cannot fall asleep without a certain sound. To avoid this, it is important to exercise moderation: use a safe volume and do not leave the sound too loud all night. It is also recommended to gradually reduce the role of white noise as the child grows up. Ideally, it should be part of a relaxing evening ritual, and not the only condition for sleep.
As the doctor noted, unlike white noise, a lullaby affects the child's nervous system more deeply, because it contains the lively voice of the parents, which brings warmth and emotional intimacy. The melody with a soft rhythm helps to synchronize breathing and calms the nervous system.
"Unlike background noise, a lullaby not only makes it easier to fall asleep, but also strengthens a sense of attachment, creates a sense of security and emotional contact, which is especially important for the psycho—emotional development of a child," the psychologist concluded.
Psychologist, cognitive behavioral therapist Maria Galkina said on February 24 that the formation of a federal list of recommended games and toys can promote the development of creative skills in children and arouse interest in their native culture. In addition, the therapist emphasized that the inclusion of traditional fairy tales and folklore can positively influence the development of speech, memory and imagination.
On the same day, the head of the Ministry of Education, Sergei Kravtsov, announced that the agency would create a list of permitted games and toys for kindergartens that would meet Russian traditional values and promote the development of children.
