The crisis around Ukraine provoked by Western states has led to the fact that many global technological threats remain unanswered, and the system of responding to them, including through the work of the United Nations (UN), is ineffective. This was announced on February 12 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council.

"The existing model of responding to them (threats. — Ed.), including within the framework of the work of the United Nations and its specialized bodies, is ineffective, bureaucratic and does not take into account the interests of the vast majority of the inhabitants of our planet," he said in an interview with Expert magazine.

According to Medvedev, the situation of all mankind is becoming more unstable and it will be necessary to negotiate in order to eliminate threats to its existence.

On February 19, Medvedev declared that Russia would achieve peace and ensure its security. According to him, the goals of the Russian Federation in a special military operation (SVO) are to ensure security for decades to come, as well as to eliminate the threat of war.

Chief of the Joint Staff of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Andrey Serdyukov said on February 12 that the actions of the West are aimed at prolonging and continuing the conflict in Ukraine. At the same time, the rapid militarization of Europe is aimed at confrontation with Russia.
