Russians were given the dates of the New Year holidays in 2027
Previously, in 2027, the New Year's weekend will last from December 31, 2026 to January 10, 2027, which will amount to a total of 11 rest days. This was announced on March 12 by Igor Balynin, Associate Professor of the Department of Public Finance at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.
"The next New Year holidays, which will begin on December 31, 2026 (Thursday) and, most likely, will last until January 10, 2027 (Sunday)," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
It is specified that the amount of wages will not depend on public holidays, since it is calculated on the basis of the days actually worked, in proportion to the number of workers, and not calendar days per month.
On February 3, Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov announced that it was recommended to hold spring holidays in Russian schools from March 28 to April 5. He also recalled that the winter holidays for schoolchildren lasted from December 31, 2025 to January 11, 2026.
In 2026, Russians expect five long weekend periods of three days in a row — in February, March, May and June. It was also noted that November 4 will be a day off. The next New Year holidays, according to preliminary data, will be held from December 31, 2026 to January 10, 2027.
