The media reported on the Pentagon's ban on media photographers attending briefings
The Ministry of War has banned photojournalists from attending briefings on the conflict with Iran, after department officials found photos of Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth unsuccessful. This was reported on March 11 by The Washington Post (WP), citing anonymous sources.
"After the publication of the photos [from the March 2 briefing] — which were widely distributed because they were licensed by publications around the world — Hegset employees informed colleagues that they did not like the appearance of the minister," the material says.
According to the newspaper's interlocutors, after that, Hegseth's assistants decided not to allow photographers to attend two subsequent briefings at the Pentagon, on March 4 and 10. It is noted that since then, only staff photographers of the Ministry of Defense have been allowed to attend meetings.
On October 14, 2025, US President Donald Trump criticized his photo on the cover of Time magazine because of his "disappeared" hairstyle and the wrong angle. According to the president, he never liked being photographed from different angles.
