A foreign hacker who hacked into the FBI database in 2023 threatened the US authorities to release files on the case of financier Jeffrey Epstein, convicted of sexual crimes. This was reported on March 11 by the Reuters news agency, citing an informed source and documents from the US Department of Justice.
"The intrusion was carried out by a foreign hacker who, apparently, did not realize that he had penetrated the server of law enforcement agencies. The hacker expressed disgust at the presence of child pornography images on the device and left a message threatening to hand over its owner to the FBI," the material says.
