The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has warned California law enforcement agencies about a possible retaliatory strike by Iran using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on the west coast. This was reported on March 11 by ABC News channel.

It clarifies that drones can be launched from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United States and sent to unspecified targets in California.

California Governor Gavin Newsom confirmed that his office was aware of possible drone strikes in the region. At a press conference on March 11, he said that the California authorities are working together with state and federal agencies to ensure security, stressing that issues related to threats posed by drones have always remained in the focus of attention of the state authorities.

"Regarding drone strikes, we were aware of this information," Newsom said.
