A contract for the construction of new stages of the CMMSD was signed in St. Petersburg.

An agreement has been signed in St. Petersburg for the construction of key sections of the Latitudinal High-Speed Highway. This was announced on March 11 by the press service of the city administration on the website.

The total length of the second and fourth stages of construction will be 14.1 kilometers. The agreement was concluded between the Northern Capital Latitudinal Highway company and the general contractor, which marked the transition of the project into the active phase of implementation.

It is expected that the CMMSD will become an essential element of the transport infrastructure capable of strengthening the framework of the urban road network.

According to representatives, the new highway will not only accelerate the development of the eastern districts of St. Petersburg, but will also take over a significant part of the traffic flow of the Murmansk direction, significantly improving connections between different parts of the city.

The project is also designed to synchronize the transport infrastructure of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, as well as stimulate the development of adjacent territories.

The city authorities emphasize that the commissioning of the SMSD will allow drivers to save dozens of hours on the road, significantly increase the comfort and mobility of the residents of the metropolis. The highway will directly connect the eastern districts of the city with its center and southern part, and thanks to integration with the Western High-Speed Diameter (WSD), it will provide direct communication with the northern districts.
