More than 15 hotels in Dubai have been blacklisted for evicting Russian tourists and significantly increasing prices for accommodation. This was announced on March 11 by Maya Lomidze, Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

"More than 15. <...> We considered it our duty to inform the regulator, the Ministry of Economic Development, that in such hotels they allowed themselves to evict tourists, or demand three to four times more money for accommodation," TASS quoted her as saying.

In response to requests from tour operators, the regulator said that such incidents had been brought to the attention of the Dubai authorities. The measures that will be taken in relation to these hotels have not yet been specified.

Lomidze noted that although tour operators do not want to spoil relations with hoteliers, they were forced to report the incidents. As a result of an appeal from the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and the Dubai authorities, the situation was partially resolved. Although the problem has not completely disappeared, the situation has improved by 90%.

In addition, Lomidze added that some Middle Eastern airlines also behave unpredictably and sometimes incorrectly towards Russian passengers.

On March 5, ATOR sent the Dubai tourism authorities a list of hotels that evicted Russian tourists or refused to check in during the crisis. It was clarified that at the moment the situation with the accommodation and departure of tourists is under control. Airlines and tour operators have established prompt notification of passengers about departures.

On March 4, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the removal of Russian citizens from the Middle East due to the worsening situation in the region. The head of the Ministry of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov, reported that since February 28, the airspace of 10 states has been closed, and more than 250 flights connected with Russia have been canceled. At the time of the outbreak of the conflict, there were 23.5 thousand organized tourists from the Russian Federation in the region, more than 90% of them in the UAE.
