Alexey Titov, the head of the Ostashkovsky municipal District of the Tver Region, was detained on suspicion of receiving a particularly large bribe. This was announced on March 10 by the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Tver region.

"According to investigators, on March 10 of this year, the head of the Ostashkovsky municipal district, while inside a car parked in the city of Tver, received money in the total amount of 1 million 100 thousand rubles as a bribe from a man acting as part of an operational search operation," the press service said on the website. departments.

According to the investigative authorities, a criminal case has been opened against the official under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a particularly large bribe"). The materials provided by the regional directorate of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia became the basis for its initiation.

The investigation believes that the reward was supposed to be for assistance in the sale of real estate owned by the Ostashkovsky district at an undervalued price. It is specified that it was a question of general patronage in the selection of these objects and the support of transactions with them.

It is specified that immediately after receiving the money, the suspect was detained by FSB officers. In the near future, the investigation plans to apply to the court with a petition for the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention.

The department added that investigative actions aimed at consolidating the evidence base in the case are currently ongoing.
