Putin spoke about the problems with water supply in Donbass
The construction of the ring road around the Sea of Azov is ahead of schedule, and more than 800 km of road has already been completed. This became known on March 10 at a meeting between Vladimir Putin and the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin. The region is recovering quite rapidly, despite the enormous damage in recent years, the president noted. In addition, the meeting discussed the problem with water supply, as well as new benefits for the soldiers of the SVO.
What was discussed at the meeting
The territory of the DPR controlled by Kiev has decreased from 25% to about 15-17% in six months, Vladimir Putin said. Despite the damage caused to the region (fighting continues in some areas), it is recovering quickly. In particular, new housing is being built at a good pace. In addition, 2.5 thousand km of roads have already been built, with plans for another 3.5 thousand km by 2030. Moreover, more than 800 km has been implemented within the framework of the Azov Ring. This year, a road will also be built to Kurakhovo, which was liberated in January 2025.
The situation with water supply in the DPR remains difficult — the shortage was formed back in 2022 after Kiev turned off the water supply through the Seversky Donets — Donbass canal. Now the regional authorities are focusing on reducing water loss: more than 220 emergency teams are working on this. "I understand that this is not so easy to do, because everything there is in a state of disrepair," the president added.
Up to 15 acres of land can be provided to fighters who decide to stay in Donbass. There are many participants in the DPR from other regions who would like to take root in the republic, Denis Pushilin said. He asked for support for the pilot initiative. "Your land is, of course, "golden" in every sense of the word, but 15 is not enough. This is the Soviet standard," the president said.
Denis Pushilin also spoke about the feat of a wounded 21-year-old fighter from Samara, who alone held the positions of the Russian Armed Forces in the Grishino area for 68 days. Now the young man is in the hospital, two of his feet have been amputated. "I will definitely talk to the commander, and the reward will correspond to his feat. Of course, we will do everything to help him from a medical point of view, to support him, to do everything to make him feel like a full—fledged person," the head of state said.
