78 TV Channel launches The Evening Show
On March 10, the premiere of a new information project, The Evening Show, will take place on 78 TV channel. The program will be broadcast in prime time in a live broadcast format, combining analytics, news feed and elements of a talk show.
The "Evening Show" is intended as an author's look at the events of the passing day. According to the creators, this is the time to reflect on the main news, set the accents and discuss what is really important for the city and the country. The key difference from traditional newscasts is the work of the presenters without a prompter, which involves live conversation and improvisation in the frame.
The program will have several presenters. Viewers will see journalists with many years of television experience in the frame: Roman Kiryukhin, Felix Nevelev and Maxim Vakhrushev, who will work in pairs on different days, and sometimes all together.
Their task is not just to inform the viewer about what happened, but also to evaluate the events, based, among other things, on the reaction of Petersburgers on social networks, combining analytics with appropriate irony and empathy.
The channel's editors define the new project as a "pure experiment on St. Petersburg TV." The Evening Show is located at the junction of several media formats: it is a television picture, a "radio" presentation in the "here and now" mode, and the speed of the Internet. The project promises to combine the features of a podcast, a talk show and an analytical program.
"This is the next step in the reformatting of 78th into the leading information media in the city," comments Alexey Sukhorukov, General Director and editor-in—chief of 78 TV channel. — Six months ago, on September 1, we launched an updated "Morning Show" that broke the stereotypes about morning broadcasts. Now it's time for the evening prime. We want to offer the viewer a moment when you can exhale after a working day and, together with professional presenters, sort out the agenda, separating the really important from the secondary."
