The conflict between the United States and Israel with Iran may affect progress on the Ukrainian negotiating track. This opinion was expressed by State Duma deputy Alexei Chepa on Tuesday, March 10.

According to the politician, Kiev's Western partners have fewer resources to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

"Of course, the current conflict strongly affects the interests of Ukraine. At least the country may lose a number of weapons that it traditionally requests, since in the current conditions the United States is more focused on Iran," he said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

The parliamentarian stressed that, despite the pause in the trilateral negotiations between Russia, Ukraine and the United States, a new round may take place in the near future.

"In the last conversation between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, the topic of Ukraine, of course, was also discussed. And the next stage of negotiations may take place in the near future," concluded Chepa.

Earlier in the day, Rodion Miroshnik, Ambassador-at-large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), said that the situation in the Middle East affects the capabilities of Europe and Ukraine, and progress is possible in negotiations to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, RT reports.

Miroshnik clarified that currently the states directly or indirectly involved in the negotiation process prefer not to take active steps and are closely monitoring developments. Their position is largely determined by the current situation in the Middle East, which affects the overall political context and dynamics of the negotiations, according to the website. kp.ru .

On March 9, Vladimir Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov announced a telephone conversation between the Russian leader and American President Donald Trump. He noted that the conversation focused on the situation around Iran, as well as on negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. 360.ru .

Later, Trump said that the conversation with Putin was "positive." According to him, the Russian president expressed a desire to help resolve the conflict in the Middle East, writes Life.Ru .
