- The Russian Embassy told about the conditions of detention of the captain of the Caffa vessel in Sweden
The conditions of detention of the captain of the bulk carrier Caffa detained in Sweden are satisfactory. He is provided with the services of an interpreter and a lawyer. This was announced on March 10 at the Russian diplomatic mission.
"From the very beginning of this story, the Russian Embassy in Sweden has established contacts with the Swedish authorities, as well as with our sailors," the embassy told TASS.
The remaining crew members remain on board the vessel. The Embassy is assisting the shipowner company in organizing the supply of the crew and continues to closely monitor the development of the situation.
It is noted that the Russian diplomat visited the captain of the bulk carrier Caffa on March 8.
The Reuters news agency reported on March 6 that the Swedish Coast Guard boarded the bulk carrier CAFFA in the Baltic Sea and seized the vessel. It was noted that the ship was sailing in the territorial waters of Sweden under the Guinean flag. Later it became known that there was a Russian crew on board. 10 of the 11 members have Russian citizenship.
