In China, a 63-year-old woman gave birth to another child after her son died prematurely from cancer, the Need To Know portal writes on March 10.

A hospital representative confirmed on March 4 that the pensioner, who has not been named, had a baby girl.

The couple's son died a year ago at the age of 35 after he was diagnosed with a tumor. After experiencing the tragedy, they decided, despite their advanced age, to try to become parents again.

The woman explained that her son was not married and had no children, otherwise she would not have risked her life in order to become a mother again. No one in her family or among medical professionals supported her idea, citing the high risks of pregnancy at her age. One Chinese woman did not listen to the others and still gave birth to a child.

In February, the Global Times newspaper reported that in China, a 24-year-old resident of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region gave birth to five twins — one boy and four girls.
