The Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the Yaroslavl region opened a criminal case after information appeared on social networks about an attack on teenagers that occurred on March 9 in one of the city's shopping malls. This was reported in the press service of the SU IC in the region.
"It was previously established that on March 9, 2026, unidentified minors located on the territory of the Aura shopping mall in Yaroslavl, acting as a group of people, grossly violated public order, accompanying their actions with violence against citizens, as a result of criminal acts, four minors were injured," the agency said in a statement.
As a result of the incident, a criminal case was opened under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Hooliganism committed by a group of persons").
It is specified that the investigators are investigating all the circumstances of the incident. In particular, measures are being taken to identify those involved in the attack.
On January 23, the Investigative Committee of St. Petersburg reported that in the shopping and entertainment complex "City Mall" in St. Petersburg, security guards strangled to death a customer of the Perekrestok store, who was suspected of theft. It is specified that the criminal case has been reclassified as an article on murder.
