US President Donald Trump has appealed to the Prime Minister of Australia to grant asylum to the Iranian women's national football team. The American leader wrote about this on March 9 on the Truth Social network.

"Australia is making a terrible humanitarian mistake by allowing Iran's women's national football team to be forcibly returned to Iran. <...> Don't do this, Mr. Prime Minister, grant them asylum," the statement said.
