Cosmonauts aboard the ISS congratulated the Russians on March 8th

On March 8, Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Mikaev, Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and Andrey Fedyaev, who are on board the International Space Station (ISS), addressed Russian women and congratulated them on the International Women's Day.

"Congratulations on March 8th! This is one of the most beloved holidays in our country. On this day, all men congratulate their mothers, wives, daughters and girlfriends on International Women's Day. And we from Earth's orbit are in a hurry to join their words and express our admiration to you," said Kud—Sverchkov.

As Mikaev also noted, women inspire men every day with their beauty and fortitude. At the same time, today they are not only the guardians of the hearth, but also make an invaluable contribution to the development of the entire civilization, actively participate in all spheres of society. Women conquer the peaks both on Earth and in space, and it is thanks to them that our world becomes brighter and kinder, the cosmonaut pointed out.

Fedyaev, in turn, thanked the Russians for the warmth and kindness with which they surround their loved ones.

"We wish you love, harmony, prosperity and health! And may every day begin with kind words and smiles from people close to you. You are beautiful, remember that. Happy holidays to you!" concluded Fedyaev.

Izvestia reported on March 7 that the average receipt for the purchase of a bouquet in January-February 2026 amounted to 3,350 rubles, 15% more than a year earlier. Peonies and daisies have become the leaders in price growth — their price has increased by 12%. Peonies were purchased for an average of 510 rubles, daisies — for 185 rubles. The price of lilies, gladioli and irises increased by 9%. Their average cost was 345, 295 and 135 rubles, respectively.

On March 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the women of Russia on the upcoming International Women's Day on March 8. The Head of State noted that Russian women are always responsible about their work.
