The Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, which combined art and sport into an incredible celebration of emotions, has come to an end in Moscow. The fight for places on the podium did not stop until the last second. The audience saw great victories and real dramas. In the competition, it was decided who would represent the country at international competitions. And it is already clear that this tournament was truly triumphant for the pupils of the Heavenly Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy, Alina Kabayeva. The details are in the story of Izvestia correspondent Anton Zolotnitsky.

Without an audience, coaches, or even music, they go out on the main carpet in advance to get a feel for it. So far, only the whistling of hoops and maces can be heard in the empty hall, but it won't last long.

When the announcer announces Arina Kovshova, the audience explodes into an ovation. The fans fell in love with Alina Kabayeva, an athlete of the Heavenly Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy.

Arina has been considered one of the favorites since the beginning of the championship. But you can't relax in the finals — the competition is fierce.

"This is the key and most exciting moment of the main start of the season in Russia. The 18 best gymnasts are competing for the championship title. For everyone, it means not only recognition within the country, but also the opportunity to participate in international tournaments," the correspondent noted.

It was impossible to predict who would take the gold until the last second. But Arina Kovshova surpasses her rivals in a tense struggle. Two-time Olympic champion Evgenia Kanaeva worked with her for a long time. The programs were perfected already under the guidance of coach Elizaveta Chernova.

Arina went to this for a long time and persistently, coped with the injury. She still can't seem to believe that she's a champion. But he willingly shares his seemingly simple recipe for success.

"We have to work very hard, work in the gym and do these things boldly!" said Arina Kovshova, the champion of Russia in rhythmic gymnastics, a graduate of Alina Kabayeva's Heavenly Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy.

Just before the performance, Olympic champion Alina Kabayeva helped her with advice. She emphasizes that winning at such a high level is primarily the result of teamwork.

"First of all, I would like to thank the entire coaching staff - choreographers and choreographers, Irina Borisovna Zinovka, Natalia Belugina, and Evgenia Kanaeva. We have achieved a really great result, I congratulate everyone on this!" said Olympic champion, President of the International Association "Heavenly Grace" Alina Kabayeva.

Sofia Ilteryakova is in second place. For her, this is the first Russian championship at the adult level. The head coach of the national team, Tatyana Sergayeva, in a conversation with Izvestia, notes that the younger generation of gymnasts has generally loudly declared themselves.

"The fact that our young people are moving forward with very strong and powerful steps, especially about the year of their birth in 2009, I said last year, they show what they are capable of. Now the nerves are playing out. Whoever has stronger nerves is on the podium," she said.

Even experienced athletes don't always manage to cope with the enormous pressure. Maria Borisova could not defend the title, made a series of mistakes in the ball practice. The gymnast returns to the training hall, barely holding back tears. She is comforted by Alina Kabayeva. Throughout the championship, the Olympic champion is next to her students.

Eva Kononova, who trains under Evgenia Eliseeva, won the bronze medal. Her program was choreographed by Natalia Belugina.

"Eva works very hard. If, for example, even a coach looks at another gymnast because she gets up to the music, Eva herself will do very, very, very much, she does not need to be forced," she said.

An important indicator is that Alina Kabayeva, a pupil of the Heavenly Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy, holds two out of three places on the podium.

"It was a wonderful celebration of sports. You know, we have a great future, because those children who performed today, they just showed world–class skills. Therefore, we are preparing further, then we have world cups, grand Prix, international competitions, and I want to wish good luck to all the girls, and patience to all the coaches and work, work and work," said Alina Kabayeva.

The finale always has its own special drama. The unfortunate losses, the support of the fans, the tears of disappointment and the joy of triumph. All this should be motivation for every gymnast. The test of strength at the international level is ahead.

In the ribbon final at the Russian Championships, athletes from the Heavenly Grace Rhythmic Gymnastics Academy, Alina Kabayeva, took the entire podium. Maria Borisova won gold, Eva Kononova, who is coached by Evgenia Eliseeva, won silver, and Alexandra Borisova, a pupil of Irina Gusarova, won bronze.
