On February 6, US President Donald Trump said that the rise in gasoline prices in the country amid the conflict in the Middle East is short-term, and the situation will return to normal soon.

"It's okay. It will be short-term. She (the price of gasoline. — Ed.) it will fall very quickly," the American leader told CNN.

In addition, the US president said that he had already "dealt with" the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. He attributed this to actions against the Iranian naval forces.

"We defeated their fleet because, you know, when you take down the fleet, they can't do what they wanted to do. <...> We just reached the mark of about 25 [destroyed Iranian ships]," Trump said.
