Catch limits for amateur fishermen to be increased in Primorye
Limits for amateur fishermen will be changed in Primorsky Krai. This will allow you to take much more catch with you. The regional authorities have proposed to increase the daily production rates of pink salmon and sims. The idea has found support from the federal authorities.
IA PrimaMedia, referring to the press service of the regional government, clarifies that the allowable catch rate of pink salmon will increase from two to five specimens per day per person, and Sims — up to two specimens.
The initiative of the regional government in November 2025 was worked out jointly with the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography and supported at a meeting of the Far Eastern Basin Scientific and Commercial Council.
The agency notes that amateur fishing in Primorye is free and free for all citizens. However, there are daily catch rates and other restrictions, the purpose of which is to preserve the population of aquatic biological resources. Fishermen, in particular, are prohibited from nets and must comply with established production deadlines.
The new rules should come into force after all necessary legal procedures have been completed. They must also be approved by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
Earlier it was reported that starting from August 10, a temporary ban on amateur fishing in Pacific salmon spawning grounds was introduced in Primorsky Krai. The restrictions did not apply to all bodies of water, but only to those rivers that flow into the Sea of Japan. The ban did not affect the basin of the Ussuri River, including its tributaries, as well as marine areas where recreational fishing is allowed.
