State Duma deputies have prepared a bill that suggests increasing the age of the child, before which the period of care is counted in the insurance record, from one and a half years to three years. The initiative will be sent to the government for approval, LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky told Izvestia.

"Currently, periods of child care are included in the insurance record only until they reach the age of one and a half years. Due to this approach, a significant part of the actual child care is not taken into account when calculating insurance pensions. This means that the parent is forced to return to work earlier, worrying that in old age there will be a shortage of points for calculating an insurance pension or its size will be completely ridiculous. We propose to increase the age of the child, before which the period of care is counted in the insurance record, from one and a half years to three years," the parliamentarian said.

He added that this fair measure will allow parents to remain calm about their future and spend more time with their children. The LDPR leader proposed this initiative as part of a corresponding statement aimed at comprehensive support and protection of the rights of Russian women.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin recalled the indexation of social pensions since April. According to him, the increase will affect over 4 million people. Among them are people with disabilities, orphaned children, citizens who have lost their breadwinner, as well as those who do not have work experience or it is not enough to assign an insurance pension.
