The Iranian warship IRIS Dena, destroyed by an American submarine, had no weapons on board and was returning home after participating in the international naval parade and naval exercises MILAN-2026, organized by India from February 15 to 25. This was reported on March 5 by the Associated Press (AP).

"The Iranian warship sunk by an American submarine off the coast of Sri Lanka participated in naval exercises organized by India before sailing into the international waters of the Indian Ocean on its way home," the publication says.

It is noted that a total of 74 countries participated in the exercises. The protocol of the parade ordered the participating ships not to place ammunition on board.
