About 30 drones were detected during a massive raid in the airspace of Abkhazia on March 4. On March 5, the commander of the Air Force and Air Defense, Lieutenant General Adgur Gumba, told reporters.

"Despite the enemy conducting reconnaissance, the objects on the territory of the republic were not a direct target. Of the approximately 30 vehicles detected in the airspace, 99% were destroyed. Fragments of the downed vehicles were found in 11 settlements," he said in a video posted on the Telegram channel of the Apsnypress agency.

Gumba noted that previously single flights of 5-7 drones were recorded, but this was not made public in order to avoid panic.

"Our units are trying to adjust the fire so that the downed drone does not plan towards residential buildings. Yesterday, one of the devices damaged a high—voltage power transmission line, but the SUES specialists promptly restored the power supply," he added.

On March 4, Russian air defense systems shot down 76 UAVs over Russian territory in eight hours. 27 vehicles were intercepted over the territory of the Republic of Crimea, 16 over the Sea of Azov, 14 over the territory of the Krasnodar Territory, and nine more over the Belgorod region. Three drones were also shot down over the Black Sea, and another was eliminated over the Republic of Mari El. Two UAVs were also eliminated over the Kaluga, Kirov and Kursk regions.
