Users from 40 countries can now register in the MAX messenger. This was announced on March 5 by the press service of the VKontakte social network on its website.

Residents of Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America will be able to send messages and make calls. To register, you need to download the app, select a country, enter a phone number and a verification code from the SMS.

The full list includes Vietnam, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thailand, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Cuba, Iraq, Venezuela and others. You can only communicate with users from other countries after adding numbers to your contacts. VKontakte calls this a necessary security measure.

In addition, account protection in MAX can be enhanced by enabling two-factor authentication, "Safe Mode" or "Family Protection".

In November last year, residents of nine countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) were able to exchange messages and make calls via MAX.
