The US Senate did not support the resolution on limiting Trump's powers in Iran
Following a vote in the US Senate, a resolution was rejected to limit the powers of American President Donald Trump in a military operation in Iran. The C-SPAN TV channel broadcast the vote on March 4.
52 senators voted against the resolution. 47 people supported the proposed document.
A majority of votes is sufficient to pass a resolution in the Senate.
CNN reported on March 4 that Trump's closest advisers are concerned about the prospect of a protracted war and are trying to persuade the head of state to declare victory over Iran as soon as possible.
White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt said on the same day that the current plans for the US military operation against Iran do not include the participation of ground forces, but such a possibility cannot be completely ruled out.
