A man died in a roof collapse at an enterprise in Tula.

In the Tula region, the roof of the workshop of an enterprise for the production of metal structures collapsed. This was announced on March 4 by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

"It was established that in one of the workshops of the enterprise for the production of metal structures, the roof collapsed due to the accumulation of snow and ice on an area of 1.2 thousand square meters. m. According to preliminary data, 42 people were in the workshop. 40 came out on their own, one person died, one remained under the rubble," the department said.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the company is located in the urban district of Uzlovaya on Zavodskaya Street. Firefighters and rescuers arrived at the scene, dog handlers are working.

On February 14, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that since the beginning of the year in Russia, two people have died from falling snow and ice from roofs, and 13 more have been injured. According to the agency, the incidents were recorded at residential facilities, social and cultural infrastructure. People were injured in Moscow, the Moscow, Tula and Nizhny Novgorod regions. The Ministry of Emergency Situations called on the regional authorities to organize immediate cleaning of the roofs of buildings in order to avoid new incidents.
