The son of the deceased supreme leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei, Mojtab Khamenei, was allegedly elected the next supreme leader of the state. This decision was made by the Council of Ayatollahs. This was reported on March 3 by the Iran International agency.
"The Assembly of Experts, under pressure from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, elected Mojtaba Khamenei as the next leader of the Islamic Republic," the publication says.
This information has not been officially confirmed by the Iranian authorities at the moment.
