An unpleasant odor in an apartment may be the result of a violation of sanitary and epidemiological requirements for the operation of residential premises, for which Russians can receive a fine of up to 20 thousand rubles. Olga Leonova, Associate Professor of the Department of State and Municipal Finance at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, told about this on March 4.

"It can be keeping an animal without proper care, lack of proper cleaning, untimely garbage removal, and so on. For such a violation, an individual faces a fine of 500 to 1,000 rubles," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
