On March 3, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Special representative of the President of the Russian Federation, called for assessing the possibility of restoring the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline at the expense of the European Union (EU).

"What are the chances that mistakes will be recognized, unsuccessful decisions in the energy sector will be canceled, and the Nord Stream 2 project will be resumed at the expense of the EU? Wrong decisions lead to bad consequences," Dmitriev wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

In this way, he reacted to reports that the EU intends to convene an emergency meeting on gas supplies due to the escalation of the conflict with Iran.
