During the handshake ceremony after the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) regular season match between Amur Khabarovsk and Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk on March 3, a mass brawl took place.

A conflict broke out between Neftekhimik striker Matvey Nadvorny and Amur forward Yaroslav Likhachev. Khabarovsk defender Viktor Baldaev stood up for his teammate, after which other hockey players and referees separated the fighting.

The meeting between Amur and Neftekhimik took place in Khabarovsk and ended with a 3-1 victory for the hosts.

On February 1, Russian goalkeeper of the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey Club (HC) Andrey Vasilevsky fought with Boston Bruins goalkeeper Jeremy Swayman in a National Hockey League (NHL) regular season match. The Russian, having seen how Swayman got involved in a fight between field players, went to the center of the arena. The Boston goalkeeper went to meet him, who was the first to drop the trap, helmet and pancake.
