The Moscow authorities are going to complete the comprehensive reconstruction of the Vorobyevsky overpass in accordance with previously approved plans in the autumn of this year. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin told about this in his channel in the MACH messenger.

The bridge is located at the intersection of Vernadsky Avenue and Kosygina Street. It was built in 1958, and after almost 70 years of intensive operation, it no longer meets the modern safety requirements for the capital's transport infrastructure, the mayor explained. The reconstruction of the track facility started in 2025. Within its framework, it was planned to completely replace the beams with a precast reinforced concrete superstructure, strengthen the posts of intermediate supports and replace the crossbars of all supports, replace the structures of the bridge bed, barrier and railings, as well as rebuild retaining walls, install new expansion joints and strengthen cones. Sobyanin stressed that the landscaping works are being carried out without blocking traffic, and cars are following the overpass both towards the center of the capital and towards the region.

Currently, the planned amount of work has been completed by more than 30%. The builders are intensifying work on this site in order to complete them on time. After the reconstruction is completed, it will be easier for citizens to reach such popular locations as the Vorobyovy Gory Sports Complex, Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow State University and the Palace of Pioneers.
