- During the month, hundreds of applications from all over Russia were submitted for the "You're in the Game" contest.
During the first month of the VI season of the All-Russian sports Project Competition "You're in the Game", more than half a thousand applications were received from all over the country. The leaders in the number of projects presented were St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Novosibirsk regions, and the most popular nominations were "Children in Sports", "Limitless Opportunities" and "Starting Point".
The key objective of the "You're in the Game" contest is to find and celebrate bright and promising projects that help involve Russians in sports. "You're in the game" is held annually under the state program "Sport of Russia" with the support of the Ministry of Sports.
Football, running and martial arts are among the most popular sports of the VI season, but there are projects dedicated to less common activities, such as yoga, darts, motorsport and skateboarding. New applications are received daily in each of the eight categories of the competition, including partner ones — "Media", "Sports Tourism" and "Corporate Sports". The geography of the competition is constantly expanding. Sports ideas are born everywhere, and the solutions offered by the participants never cease to amaze. An initiative can be any one, as long as it meets the main goal of the project — it changes people's lives for the better.
The Baltic Wind of Change project from Kaliningrad, presented in the Children in Sports nomination, shows how an initiative by several enthusiasts can grow into a large-scale interregional festival with thousands of participants in various beach disciplines. In addition to the festival, the project regularly hosts training sessions, workshops and training sessions, making beach sports more accessible and understandable. Its audience is teenagers and young people of the Kaliningrad region with different levels of education. Special attention is paid to children from large families and adolescents with disabilities.
"Receiving a federal grant has made our initiative more sustainable, and reaching the semi-finals of the "You're in the Game" competition has become an incentive for the development of the project, allowing us to gain new experience and believe in ourselves more strongly. We proved to ourselves and others that we don't have to wait for the perfect moment, we need to go out on the sand, start acting, and involve others. Today, we are known and recognized, and by participating in the competition for the second time, we are moving forward, developing and popularizing beach disciplines, making them more accessible to everyone," the authors of the project explain.
The Generational Football project from Bogdanovich, Sverdlovsk region, is just over six months old. This initiative in the "Starting Point" nomination appeared only in June 2025. Using football, the organizers create an environment for shared family leisure, which is especially important for a small town. They hold family tournaments, sports relay races, and also organized the Football Family club, which unites fans of this sport over tea parties and emotional match screenings. More than 200 participants have been involved in the Generational Football project.
One of the projects presented in the "Transformation in Sports" nomination is the digital platform "OSport" for practicing digital sports, located at the junction of digital technologies and classical types of physical activity. In Russia, this area is actively developing in order to increase interest in a healthy lifestyle of the younger generation, and to develop the cognitive and physical abilities of young people. In 2023, the Russian Ministry of Sports officially included digital in the All-Russian Register of Sports. The All-Russian Federation of Digital Sports has been organized and is working, and digital centers are being created in the regions — new generation sports grounds.
Accessibility of sports is the task of the Abc of Tourism project from Kirovsk, Murmansk region. Its authors, who submitted an application in the Sports Tourism nomination, have been organizing hikes and tourist gatherings for people with disabilities for nine years, in which eight teams from different cities participate. Participants learn how to build a campfire, pitch tents, navigate the forest, overcome obstacles, unlock their potential and break down their own barriers.
The listed projects are only a small part of the applications already received. The projects vary in geography, scale, nomination, and approach to implementation, but they share a common goal — to make people's lives more active and healthier.
An educational program has already started for the participants of the competition: the "Growth Zone" Marathon is taking place within five weeks, which helps the authors of projects to strengthen the application, finalize the positioning and prepare for the next stages of the competition. Vladimir Voloshin's webinar on personal motivation and the development of sports initiatives was also held in the official You're in the Game community on VKontakte. More information about the marathon and the webinar can be found on the official social networks of the contest.
The sixth season of the competition features five main nominations — "Starting point", "Scale", "Children in sports", "Transformation in sports", "Limitless opportunities", as well as three nominations from the partners of the competition — "Corporate Sports", "Sports Tourism", "Media".
