The airspace over the territory of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was temporarily and partially closed. This was announced on March 2 by the country's Civil Aviation regulatory Authority.

"The partial and temporary closure of Jordan's airspace is announced daily from 18:00 to 21:00 (coincides with Moscow time. — Ed.)," the agency said in a statement on its page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

These measures, as explained, were provoked by the escalation in the Middle East. They will be effective from today until the notification of their cancellation, so passengers at the Jordanian Civil Aviation Authority were advised to monitor the status of their flights.

At the same time, the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority announced in its Telegram channel the extension of the closure of airspace over its country for the next 48 hours. It was noted that the regime will be in effect until 12:00 on Wednesday, March 4.

The airports of Dubai, Bahrain and Qatar also closed their airspace on February 28, the day when Israel, in cooperation with the United States, launched a preemptive strike on facilities in Iran. Because of this, thousands of Russians remained abroad, in particular, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Relatives of Russians who cannot fly out of there told Izvestia that they have been waiting for their loved ones to return for the second day.

On February 28, the Federal Air Transport Agency issued recommendations for flights to the Middle East. It was noted that airlines should choose bypass routes and route them through the airspace of third countries in compliance with all security measures. Aeroflot cancelled all its flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi at that time. Later it became known that Abu Dhabi Airport resumed check-in for flights to Moscow.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
