In Krasnoyarsk, infected fruits and vegetables imported from abroad were found again. This time, 5.7 tons of peppers and grapes were affected by Western flower thrips and chervets from Comstock.

Fruits and vegetables arrived from China, writes KrasnoyarskMedia news agency. The products had to be treated with safe drugs.

Experts note that quarantine pests are not dangerous to humans, but they carry viral diseases and cause rapid crop damage.

Earlier, Rospotrebnadzor recommended that Russians traveling to countries where the Nipah virus is circulating refrain from eating raw fruits and unpasteurized juices. The ministry stressed that no imported cases of the disease have been registered in Russia. To prevent infection, tourists are also advised to avoid contact with bats and their droppings, not to visit pig farms and live animal markets in the foci of infection, and to monitor hygiene.
