The construction of a cable car across the Amur River, between Heihe and Blagoveshchensk, was put on hold due to frosts. The specialists decided to suspend the work on the tension of steel cables.

This one is planned to be completed by the end of May. This is necessary to eliminate the main technological barriers for cabin installation and commissioning.
Preparations for the opening of the checkpoint are underway in parallel. On December 24-25, 2025, the Pedestrian checkpoint in Heihe passed preliminary acceptance at the level of Heilongjiang Province. Permission has been received to launch a duty-free store.
At the moment, specialists have completed the main construction work at the facility. They painted the facades, performed thermal insulation, formed architectural elements and functional areas. The readiness of the facility is estimated at 97%.
The length of the cable car will be 976 m. It will become the world's first interstate line of this type and will connect Blagoveshchensk and Heihe. It will be possible to cross the Amur River in 2.5 m. There will be two lines with cabins for 110 passengers each.
At the end of January, it was reported that construction of the Lena Bridge in Yakutia was underway around the clock. The project receives systematic support from the federal authorities. So, in January 2026, 1.3 billion rubles were allocated from the federal treasury for its implementation. The project is of strategic importance for the transport connectivity of the Arctic zone with the Far East.
