The Air Force of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has launched new attacks on military bases, camps and headquarters located in the territory of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This was reported on the morning of March 2 by the RTA TV channel with reference to the Afghan Ministry of Defense.

"The country's Air Force (Afghanistan. — Ed.) again conducted effective airstrikes on the Nur Khan airbase in Rawalpindi, the headquarters of the 12th corps in Quetta, Balochistan, the Khwazai military camp <...> and the Gulani military base," the publication says.

It is noted that these airstrikes were carried out in response to yesterday's and today's aerial violations, which were recorded by Pakistani militias in Kabul, Bagram and several other areas.

On February 26, a representative of the Taliban movement of the 201st Khalid ibn Walid Army Corps reported armed clashes on the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan. On the same day, GEO TV reported that 72 Taliban were killed and over 100 injured in the incident.

The next day, powerful explosions were heard in Kabul, and Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif addressed the Taliban government in Afghanistan with a warning about the outbreak of an "open war." According to him, the opponents allegedly attracted "terrorists from all over the world" and began to "export" this movement. After that, the Pakistani Air Force attacked Afghan military installations, which were located not only in its capital, but also in Kandahar and Paktia.

On February 27, Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid indicated his country's readiness for a peaceful settlement, but clarified that Pakistan had never sought such a development. A few days later, Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan's Minister of Information and Broadcasting, said that the Afghan side had lost 995 people during the clashes.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on February 27 that Russia was counting on a cessation of hostilities between Afghanistan and Pakistan. The presidential spokesman added that the Russian Federation is monitoring developments on the border of the two countries, while stressing that it is too early to draw any conclusions.
