Russian hockey player, Washington Capitals forward Alesander Ovechkin has updated the sniper record of the National Hockey League (NHL) by scoring his 920th goal in the NHL championships. The goal was scored on February 28 in a regular season league match against the Montreal Canadiens.

Ovechkin scored in the 14th minute of the match and leveled the score to 1-1. Thus, he broke his goalless streak of seven matches.

The Washington Capitals defeated the Vegas Golden Knights in the National Hockey League regular season match on the night of February 27-28. Pierre-Luc Dubois scored a double and Jacob Chikran scored for the winning team. Brayden Bowman and Tomas Gertl scored for the Las Vegas team. In addition, Russian striker Pavel Dorofeev scored an assist.
