The decision of the Ukrainian authorities to "rename" the districts in Donetsk, Lugansk, Makeyevka and Horlivka indicates the complete failure of the current government of Ukraine. This was announced on March 1 by Senator from the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Alexander Voloshin.

According to Voloshin, Kiev continues to struggle with "phantom pains" in the form of lost territories using methods available only to it.

"The invented names represent an excellent example of Kiev's "decommunization newspeak," which has little relation to place names that actually existed throughout history. It looks very comical and speaks about the total helplessness of the current Ukrainian authorities," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

The senator also noted that Russia's position remains unchanged — the Russian army continues its offensive in Donbas. Voloshin added that Kiev can name the regions of Donbass as it pleases, but these names will never be recognized.
