The IDF deployed more than 200 aircraft in the attack on Iran
The Israeli military deployed more than 200 aircraft during the operation against Iran. This was announced on February 28 by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the Telegram channel.
"About 200 aircraft completed the largest military flight in the history of the Israeli Air Force: the IDF conducted a large—scale attack on rocket launchers and defense systems <...> in the western and central parts of Iran," the report said.
The IDF added that it had hit 500 targets in Iran. The Israeli military noted that they had struck in two waves.
On the morning of February 28, Israel launched a preemptive attack on Iran. At the same time, the US president announced the beginning of a military operation by the state against Iran. During it, military installations in western Iran, the residence of the country's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and an elementary school in the city of Minab were destroyed.
Subsequently, Iran sent missiles towards Israel. In addition, the US Fifth Fleet maintenance center was shelled in Bahrain. Iran also carried out an attack on four US military bases in Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. Because of this, the United States began evacuating some personnel from the Al-Udeid airbase in Qatar.
At the same time, the IDF launched a massive airstrike on military installations in western Iran. The strike was carried out on the city of Shiraz. In addition, 70,000 Israeli reservists have been conscripted into military service.
Russian Leader Vladimir Putin discussed the situation around Iran with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council. The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia demands that the situation around Iran be immediately brought back to a political and diplomatic settlement. In turn, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov condemned the "unprovoked armed attack" by the United States and Israel on Iran.
