The circumstances of the incident

The tragedy occurred on the evening of February 27 at the house on Borodinskaya Street in Podolsk. An 11-year-old boy and his friends went for a walk in the yard. The teenager climbed into an improvised manhole dug inside a large pile of snow. At that time, work was carried out on the territory to clear snow debris using a tractor.

The driver of the vehicle, according to preliminary data, did not notice the child in the snowdrift. As a result, the snow structure collapsed and covered the student. The boy died on the spot from his injuries before the ambulance arrived. The child had been missing since the evening of February 27, and his body was found while clearing snow.

The reaction of law enforcement officers

The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the Moscow region has opened a criminal case into the death of a child under Part 2 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("violation of safety rules during work that negligently caused the death of a person"). Investigators and criminologists are conducting an inspection of the scene, interrogating employees of the management company, and conducting forensic examinations.

The Moscow Region Prosecutor's Office also organized an inspection. During the audit, a legal assessment will be given to the actions of responsible officials of the managing organization.
