The number of dead students of the Shajare Tayeb elementary school for girls after the attack in southern Iran has increased to 40 people, the Iranian Mehr news agency reported on February 28.

"The death toll from an Israeli strike on an elementary school for girls in the city of Minab is growing and as of 2:45 p.m. reached 40 people, 48 more were injured," the media reported, citing data from local authorities.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that dozens of students were trapped under rubble as a result of an attack on an elementary school building in Minaba. In the same area, according to the agency, part of the hospital was damaged.
